It is well known that the Croatian coast abounds with pure and wonderful beaches, and one of these is the beach Sakarun. The beach is 800 m long, and at 250 m from the shore the sea depth is only 3.5 m, which means that the sea around the Sakarun is extremely shallow and suitable for swimming. Thanks to the white sand and turquoise blue sea, Sakarun has gained a worldwide reputation and is often found on the lists of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Thanks to its biodiversity, Sakarun is protected within the northwestern part of Long Island as a significant landscape. Sakarun is surrounded and protected by the forests of black and Aleppo pine, and communities of underbrush and garrigue. Unfortunately, the open sea often brings a variety of impurities to the coast of Sakarun, so it is necessary to constantly work on the preservation and protection of this Adriatic pearl.
On the beach there are two restaurants that offer refreshments and light meals. Near the Sakarun are places Veli Rat, Božava, Soline and Verunić. To the Sakarun every two hours’ drive a tourist train, departing from Božava.
On this magical beach you can anchor on the placed buoys with sailboat, catamaran or yacht. This sea paradise with its untouched nature is becoming an increasingly popular destination for lovers of summer joy and relaxation.
