Helia 44 is the first catamaran form the new series of French shipyard Fountaine Pajot, which successfully combines good sailing performance and high level of comfort and replaces the previous model Oran. Beside Fountaine Pajot, a large role in shaping this catamaran had a design studio Berret - Racapoue, who put a sense of comfort and satisfaction on the first place. The sink is built in a vacuum infused vinyl ester resin, whereby the weight of construction is significantly reduced, which allows this beautiful catamaran to sail quickly with a smaller sail area. The novelty is that the keel is coated with fiberglass, which prevents damage of the ship during the grounding.
The area around the cockpit is maximally expanded and used, and the existing upper deck is constructed as a semi bridge, providing a spacious area for relaxing and sunbathing halfway up to the deck salon. All sail ropes were brought to the skipper positions including mainsail reefs and for further assistance there is also an electric winch for raise, manage and control of the sails, so practically skipper can sail independently without the help of the crew.
Helia 44 achieved great speed of up to 8-10 knots during sailing, which allows a low center of gravity and large sail area.
Salon has classic layout, with ceiling windows which bring a large amount of natural light and are an excellent help for controlling of sails on longer voyages by foul weather. Excellent equipped kitchen is oriented toward cockpit, where is a large table for eight people. When the salon doors are fully opened, you have feeling that kitchen looks like a bar, and cockpit with salon creates one big area that will appeal to the most demanding guests. Helia 44 has two most spacious aft cabins in its class, with large closets and heads with separate shower. Bow cabins are a little smaller than a stern, offer enough comfort even for a longer stay.
