Therefore, more often many of tourists who want to escape from crowded beaches decide for daily boat rental, and sail away to nearby islands and nice hidden bays. Daily boat rental is becoming an increasingly common part of tourist offer in coastal places. Dinghies are the most offered and often rented without a license, although according to the law a license should have everyone who manages the vessel longer than 2.5 m with a motor of 5 kW and more.
The most popular vessels for rent are open speedboats and rubber boats without cabins, with comfortable sitting areas and sunbathing. To manage these vessels you need a license for boat handling, A or B category, which if you haven’t can get along with the examination in port authorities and their branch offices in every major place. Sometimes are also offered vessels with a smaller bow cabin, but also a boat with wheelhouse, or even small yachts.
Before each trip, ask renter everything you want to know about the boat and sailing, in order to avoid the possible later consequences. Be sure to check before the validity of license and insurance of the vessel. You also need to check the equipment on board, such as life jackets and other safety equipment. Perhaps the sailing dinghies and speedboats seem like fun, but it's not a game, and you should pay particular attention to the safety of the vessel and passengers.
The Adriatic coast is full of beautiful bays, marvelous beaches, picturesque islands and small forgotten islets. Some of the more interesting routes for trips are bays of the island of Cres like Punta Cross and Kalifornata peninsula on island of Rab, and also particularly attractive are islands of the Sibenik and Zadar archipelago, including the National park Kornati and Nature park Telašćica. Especially interesting are Cape Kabel on the island of Hvar and Pakleni Islands and south Dalmatian Elaphite Islands near Dubrovnik. Of course, indispensable are the islands of Vis and Lastovo, but to reach them you need bigger and more powerful boat.
Before sailing, it’s very important to monitor the weather. In case of notice of strong winds and unfavorable weather conditions, delay sailing until it comes nicer weather. In a strong bora is not recommended to sail because it is demanding and potentially dangerous.
