This equated the status of sailboats and yachts that sail across the Adriatic under Croatian flag and other EU countries. Also, sailboats and yachts under the flag the EU countries can provide charter services in Croatia.
Of course, in order for smooth sailing along the Adriatic coast, vessels must have a valid license. License is a guarantee that a boat or yacht is safe for sailing and that is listed in the register of vessels, and the required fees and insurance are paid. Person who manages the boat shall be qualified as a head of the boat in categories A, B and C, while the person in command of a yacht has to be qualified as commander of yachts in categories A and B. It is necessary to have a permit to work with radio station.
Foreign citizens who decide to rent a sailboat or yacht in Croatia, and manage, must have a certificate of competence to drive a boat which is issued in accordance with the regulations on navigation in their own country, or one of the of domestic license. If the vessel has FM-RTF station, one of the crew members must have the appropriate permission to work with it. Foreign citizens can take the exam for a skipper at port authorities, which allows them to manage the vessels up to 30 GT and use of FM-RTF radio stations.
