Nautic destination - Paklinski Islands - Sail Croatia

Paklinski Islands is a group of twenty limestone islets and reefs in the Adriatic Sea, located about a hundred meters south of the town of Hvar. They were named to '' paklina '', the type of pine resin that was used in shipbuilding. Because of its beauty and pristine nature, Paklinski Islands are protected as a natural monument in the category of significant landscapes.

Paklinski Islands is a group of twenty islets and reefs scattered on the Adriatic Sea, located about a hundred meters south of the island of Hvar. They were named to '' paklina '', the type of pine resin that once used in shipbuilding. Because of its beauty and pristine nature, Paklinski Islands are protected as a natural monument in the category of significant landscapes.

Thanks to the crystal clear water and beautiful bays, Paklinski Islands are a paradise for all those who want peace and quiet, away from the summer crowds. The largest island in the archipelago is St. Klement. Island St. Klement is known for one of the most beautiful Adriatic bays, Vinogradišće, and the old botanical garden of Meneghello family. Vinogradišće is a large sandy bay on the south side of the island of St. Klement, in the village of Palmižana. It is surrounded by a thick pine forest and lots of fragrant and exotic plants such as rosemary and aloe.

Palmižana is the oldest and most famous Hvar resort whose tourist image began with Meneghello family who built a mansion there in the early XX century. Palmižana is ranked in the 10 most beautiful tourist destinations on the Adriatic Sea. The village has shops, bars and many picturesque restaurants. ACI marina Palmižana is reputed as the most elite Croatian marina, offers 180 berths.

Among other excursion sites on Paklinski Islands should be pointed islet St. Jerolim. The islet of St. Jerolim is known by nudist beach with showers and a restaurant. There is also small island Marinkovac with bay Ždrilca. Ždrilca is a picturesque forested bay with a pebbly shore. In the bay Ždrilca there are several restaurants.
