Sailing is a great experience for children and gives them the opportunity to learn a lot of useful facts about life on the sea and the sailing destination. But however, sailing with children is not so easy and carefree. Children are playful and clumsy so you will have to pay particular attention on their safety.
The most important rule of safety is that children must carry life jackets during their stay on board. It would be good to set up a safety net on the rail to prevent children from falling into the sea. During the sailing, children, due to safety, should not approach to the bow, and in case of bad weather or storm be sure to take the children below deck.
Children are more sensitive to sun and seasickness than adults, so protect them regularly high factor sunscreen, and it would be good to have on board painkillers for children. Be sure to protect kids with baseball cap and sunglasses.
Sometimes sailing can eventually become boring for the kids. To prevent this, provide them a multitude of activities that will make sailing fun and interesting. Bring their favorite toys, a mask with snorkel and diving flippers, cartoons, card games and so on. In order to kids felt like home, prepare for sailing their favorite foods and snacks.
