Dufour 500 Grange Large is a 15 - meter sailing yacht presented at the "Cannes International Boat Show" in September 2012. Dufour 500 GL is primarily designed for customers and owners who cruise within the coastal area, but also for the occasional offshore cruising.
The hull is hand laid with vacuum - bounded foam core inserted in the polyester resin. The floor is laminated into the hull which makes it easier. Z - spar mast is set forward in order to provide space for a large main sail falling into an integrated sail bag. The cockpit is divided into two zones, the comfort zone and work zone. Comfort zone, or the front part of cockpit, includes two benches from which one can be converted into sunbed. There is also a drop - leaf wooden table with sink and faucet, and additional refrigerator. So called work zone has two steering wheels with multifunction displays and Lewmar winches.
The interior is perfectly functionally and practically implemented, as well as the cockpit. Salon is very spacious, has a large U – shaped settee and convertible wooden table on the port and couch and the navigation station on the starboard. The galleys is split, on the port are cabinets and double sink, while on the starboard are stove, refrigerator, cutlery and coffee maker. The standard version of the interior layout includes three or four cabins and two or three en - suites.
