Island Ugljan

Island Ugljan is also called the “green island”, covered with pine trees, dense bush, olive-groves, vineyards, fig-groves and other vegetation. It has a surface of 51,85 km2, while the shore line is 74 km long.

The island Ugljan is closest island to town Zadar from which is divided by only couple of miles wide Zadar canal and it have an excellent ferry connection (Zadar - Preko) every hour. In the south side island is connected by bridge to island Pašman.

It’s very good destination for visitors that would like to visit National park Kornati by boat, or for those who’d like to take a tour and visit other places in the coast (National park Krka, Island Murter, Šibenik...).

Inhabitans on island are involved with sea and fishery for generations, and two thousand years of tradition in olive growing left many olive trees that produce oil of great quality and aroma. In the north-east side of the island there are many villages in natural bays, and the most famous are Kukljica, Kali, Preko and Ugljan. The other side of the island is uninhabited and has many bays, islands and rich undersea world that challenges scuba divers and recreational fishermen. Stony and sandy beaches, crystal clear sea, unique culinary experiences are some of the reasons to visit this island.

Kukljica and tourist village "Zelena Punta" are the "most touristic" places on island Ugljan. There are few restaurants, the same number of bars, shops inside of "Zelena Punta" village and all necessary for a quiet holiday. Who’d like some more "life", town Zadar is not too far - on the other side of channel.
