Pursuant to the provisions of the International Convention on Safety of Life at Sea - SOLAS Convention and Maritime Code, the Republic of Croatia is obliged to organize a radio service for navigation safety and protection of human life at sea, on inland waterways in the internal waters and territorial sea of Croatia. Coastal stations in Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik performs continuous vigil on the international frequency for distress, safety and calling 156,800 MHz.
