Pursuant to the provisions of the International Convention on Safety of Life at Sea - SOLAS Convention and Maritime Code, the Republic of Croatia is obliged to organize a radio service for navigation safety and protection of human life at sea, on inland waterways in the internal waters and territorial sea of Croatia. Coastal stations in Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik performs continuous vigil on the international frequency for distress, safety and calling 156,800 MHz.

Rijeka Radio VHF channel 04, 20, 24, 81 at: 05:30, 12:30, 19:30, 00:30

Split Radio VHF channel 07, 21, 23, 28, 81 at: 05:45, 12:45, 19:45, 0:45

Dubrovnik Radio VHF channel 04, 07, 28, 85 at: 06:20, 13:20, 20:20, 01:20

Navtex: 518kHz "Q" from Split Radio at: 02:40, 06:40, 10:40, 14:40, 18:40, 22:40

Continuous weather forecasts for the Croatian coastal region are provided in Croatian, English, Italian and German every 15 minutes, and are updated at 7:00, 13:00 and 19:00 (local time). The forecast is for the next 24 hours and includes information on barometric. Broadcast frequencies:

VHF ch. 73 for northern Adriatic/ western coast of Istria - port authority Pula

VHF ch. 69 for northern Adriatic/ eastern part - port authority Rijeka

VHF ch. 67 for central Adriatic / eastern part - port authority Split

VHF ch. 73 for southern Adriatic / eastern part - port authority Dubrovnik
